Yesterday, I went to buy chocolates for a friend's birthday. I simply mentioned the name to the shopkeeper, got the pack, paid the bill, and everything went smoothly at the party. However, this morning on Facebook, the exact chocolate I purchased last night in the same-sized package started appearing in ads. The chocolate brand isn't available locally; it's an imported one. Does Facebook listen to our conversations, or do they extract data from my bank statements to identify the shops where I made payments?

Data theft is indeed happening, and services like Google Maps contribute to this by sending data to Google, influencing your personalized feed. I recommend investing in a Pixel phone, which typically costs around $400-$500, to take steps toward degoogleizing your device. Check out this video for guidance, and you'll be on the right track.

Embrace it. Adapt to the situation.

For Android users, numerous apps are available to block microphone and camera access when not in use. Additionally, consider opting out of all marketing services.

Conversations are being monitored by certain devices; I believe this is not a new phenomenon.
I never expected Facebook to learn my native language and acquire data!

Advertisements for products are acceptable, but I've noticed numerous propaganda messages on Facebook. This phenomenon is not as prevalent on Twitter or Instagram. Since a significant portion of people in my country utilizes WhatsApp, there's concern about the potential data theft by Facebook. If Facebook is capable of taking data from mobile phones, there's uncertainty regarding the safety of our personal data and the messages shared on WhatsApp as well.

I've experienced this on various computers and phones. Now, it seems routine, and I've become indifferent to it. I even share with others that everything is under surveillance, emphasizing that the more one tries to conceal, the more intense the tracking becomes. If you desire a truly private conversation, the suggestion might be to have it while being completely exposed in the middle of the sea (though even there, we can't guarantee 100% safety).

It not only listens but also observes. Whatever I view while holding my phone appears as ads. Despite blocking all permissions, it remains ineffective.

WhatsApp is also operated by Meta, so...

Have you ever wondered how, whenever you utter "Hey Siri," "Hey Google," or "Hey Alexa," they instantly recognize that you're addressing them? These virtual assistants are actively listening around the clock. Moreover, the alarming extent of data surveillance and pilferage occurring on your phone and its applications is staggering, irrespective of the brand or operating system in use.

Welcome to the "Real Party" DESERT:)
Users on MMOLEARN, myself included, have been sharing and discussing these matters for the past year. It has become second nature to me now, and I find it amusing, lol.
Although I promptly uninstall Facebook apps after logging in to check something sometimes, as they drain battery life and persistently run in the background bombarding me with notifications 24/7, it's not just Facebook alone! Yes, Facebook may be particularly excessive and unabashed in its practices, but other major corporate sites and apps engage in similar behavior.
At one point, my concern was Google, but, as I mentioned, I can't help but wonder about the world our children and their children will inhabit. It feels almost like a futuristic movie where a high-tech alien life prevails, everything is automated, and control rests in the hands of some influential entity.
