Hello,
It's been some time since I've created a helpful thread or follow-along on this forum. In fact, I haven't been very active here since 2018.
During this time, I focused on learning media buying, and I found success by continuously running campaigns. Now, I feel that it's time for me to contribute to the community and share my knowledge with others on MMO. When I first joined, I was a complete beginner, but I learned a lot from this forum.
I decided to venture into the world of Adult Media buying, as I believed that the adult industry generates a lot of traffic, and sex is an appealing topic. With so many people watching porn every day, I thought it would be a profitable niche to explore.
I couldn't find many guides on media buying, especially in the Adult Media Buying space. Hence, I decided to share my experience and knowledge by creating a detailed guide or follow-along post for a new campaign.
Although the Adult Media Buying space has evolved over the years and become more challenging, some verticals like Dating, Cams, Adult Gaming, and Male Enhancement continue to dominate. The pandemic has impacted some verticals like Dating, but banner ads on tube sites still show significant potential in these areas.
Has anyone recently or in the past attempted Adult Media Buying, or is currently engaged in this field?
Trends in the industry come and go in waves, but those who stick to one strategy and stay focused on it tend to succeed in the long run.
It's an essential lesson that I want to emphasize to newbies - avoid being distracted by "shiny object syndrome" or chasing after whatever is currently popular. Instead, concentrate on one method that can generate income and commit to it for at least three months.
Many beginners tend to give up too quickly, so it's important to stay persistent and consistent.
Moving on to the guide or follow-along, I will be focusing on promoting a PPL (Pay-Per-Lead) Cam offer.
For newbies, it is advisable to begin with PPL offers rather than PPS (Pay-Per-Sale). This approach enables you to gather data quickly and identify what's working. Moreover, you don't need a large advertising budget to start because it's easier to persuade someone to join an offer for free rather than having them spend money to join.
By spending $50 on a PPL offer, you can generate a few leads or data. However, if you spend the same amount on a PPS offer, you might not get a single sale and won't have any sales data to analyze.
To get sufficient data on PPS offers, you will need to spend more money.
$3.50 X 3 = $10.5
For newbies wondering how much they should spend on an offer to gather enough data, a good rule of thumb is to spend three times the payout. For instance, if the Cam offer pays out $3.50, you should aim to spend at least $10.5 on the combination of banner, landing page, and offer before pausing if it doesn't generate any leads.
To ensure that I gather sufficient data, I aim to spend a minimum of $10.5 on the banner, landing page, and offer combination before pausing if it fails to generate any leads.
Here are the campaign details that I will be working with:
I will be working with the following campaign details:
Offer: Jerkmate DOI
which pays out $3.5
Ad Placement: Mobile header on Pornhub
targeting the USA. Spend Cap: $50 per day.
As you can see, I will be running a campaign for JerkMate, targeting the mobile header on Pornhub in the USA with a daily spend cap of $50.
I don't plan to spend excessively at the beginning of the campaign, as my goal is to test and observe how things work.
One common mistake made by newbies is trying to test too many variables at once. For example, testing ten different banner ads, ten different landing pages, and ten different offer pages.
I can relate to this way of thinking, as I also made the same mistake when I first started. The belief was that testing multiple variables would lead to finding winning combinations faster. However, this approach is not always effective.
If I were to break down the math on all of this, this post would become too long and potentially confusing. The key is to test more narrowly to gather enough significant data with the $50 budget across all possible combinations of the banner, landing page, and offer.
To keep the testing focused, I will be running only five banners and direct linking to two separate offer pages, resulting in a total of ten possible combinations.
I will be using Voluum tracking software as it is crucial to have a tracking solution. Without it, I wouldn't be able to determine which banner/offer combination is performing better than the others.
Out of the five banners that I'm testing, three are likely to perform poorly, while two will likely perform better than the rest.
Since I'm promoting a cam offer, JerkMate has many pre-made offer pages that I can test, so I can direct link to the offer page from the banner ad. If I were promoting a dating offer, I would need to test my pre-sell landing pages before directing traffic to the join/offer page.
In the case of promoting a dating offer, I would have to test five banners, two landing pages, and two offer pages.
I apologize for the inconsistent formatting in this post. I will update it with screenshots tomorrow and every day to make it easier to follow along with the results and the adjustments I'll be making.
If you have any questions about this follow-along, please don't hesitate to ask. I'm doing my best to contribute to MMO and provide assistance.
To purchase traffic from Pornhub, you can use TrafficJunky.com. Here's a tip: concentrate on high-volume sites such as Pornhub, RedTube, YouPorn, and Xvideos because they usually have better quality traffic than smaller spammy sites with numerous ads. Furthermore, focusing on high-volume sites enables you to scale up dramatically when you find winners. If you discover a winner on a low-volume site, it will be more challenging or even impossible for you to scale up.
