Writing Effective Amazon Shopping Guides: A Step-by-Step Guide

For the headphone example, here’s what I’d choose (the products are from TechRadar):

Sony WH-1000XM3 – Best Overall Headphones
Beyerdynamic Amiron Wireless – Best Wireless Headphones
Grado SR60e – Best On-Ear Headphones
Audio-Technica ATH-SR5BT – Best Over-Ear Headphones
RHA S500u – Best Budget In-Ear Headphones

Awesome guide! Have you tried using Wirecutter-style categories like Best Overall, Runner-Up, Upgrade Pick, and Budget Pick? If you have, how do they perform compared to product-specific categories like the ones above?

Great read, Nerva! Thanks for sharing, and please keep up the awesome work for us! 😊

If you've been looking at search results, you'll see that top review sites organize their content just like this. Thanks, OP!

This is a helpful guide! I'm curious, though—why use so many H1 headings on one page? Could it impact on-page SEO? Just my thoughts. Thanks!

That topic’s already been covered! Here’s the answer: link.

This is a really helpful guide, thank you for your time! It's great not just for Amazon affiliates, but for articles like this in general. I highly recommend reading it!

Awesome guide, thank you so much!

About the H1 title, I usually just use it once for the main title of the page or article.

So here’s the plan:

Introduction – 100 to 200 words
Comparison Table
Product Reviews (200 to 600 words per product)
Example 1: Headphone with Amazing Bass
Picture
Brief Introduction
Specs & Features
Short Outro
Pros
Cons
Call to Action (CTA)
Example 2: Headphone with Average Bass
Picture
Brief Introduction
Specs & Features
Short Outro
Pros
Cons
Call to Action (CTA)
And so on...

Buying Guide – 2,000 words
FAQ Section – 300 to 500 words
Conclusion – 100 to 200 words
Engagement Question – 100 words
If you add up the max word counts, that’s about 6,000 words in total!
If you review 10 products, you could get a 9,000-word article!

Now, a couple of questions:

Should each website focus on just one specific niche product? For example, if you’re reviewing headphones, is that the only product type you review? Or can you include other products, like keyboards, mice, monitors, etc.?

This is a pillar article, right? Do you also write other articles to support it? For example, doing a deeper review of specific products like "Headphones with Amazing Bass" and "Headphones with Average Bass"?

Thanks so much!

Thanks, Nerva! This guide is awesome. I learned a lot today. I've bookmarked this post!
