Hello everyone, I wanted to share my discoveries thus far...

It appears that the quality of my content is the decisive element in my website's rankings.

I currently manage two websites.

One of them, despite having high-quality content, is experiencing a decline in its rankings.



One of my websites is experiencing an increase in its rankings due to its superior quality content.




I personally created the content for both of my websites.

As I improved my writing skills over time, the content on my second website, which is gaining rankings, turned out to be of higher quality than that on the first one.

While this observation could be coincidental, I have still taken note of it.

It is possible that this trend is a response to the prevalence of websites that produce vast quantities of mediocre content using artificial intelligence?

What I've noticed in the search results (and on YouTube) is that a lot more newer or smaller sites and channels are showing up.

It looks like Google is trying to give other sites and channels a chance to get more attention.

In my client’s niche, I saw a site with a DR7 ranking #1, while all the other sites had a DR50 or higher.

On YouTube, I've also been seeing some smaller channels pop up in the sidebar.

Maybe Google has heard the complaints about only showing big sites and companies, and they're trying to mix things up?

I haven’t noticed much change on my sites, but I did see some websites that were hit really hard. One site went from getting over 1.3 million visitors to just over 290,000.

That’s the biggest drop I’ve seen—losing more than 70% of its traffic.

I believe there are factors beyond just content that influence rankings. Simply writing in a highly skilled manner, akin to Charles Dickens, does not guarantee the quality of a blog on astronomy. Additionally, it is worth noting that even websites like Wikipedia can contain factual errors despite ranking well.

In my niche, I am familiar with numerous sites that have average content but have maintained good rankings for years.

At present, the situation appears challenging, as Google continues to shuffle the search engine results pages (SERPs). It will require more time to gain a clearer understanding of what exactly is happening.

Regarding your point about combatting websites that produce an abundance of mediocre AI-generated content, it is indeed an interesting perspective that warrants further observation. Let's remain patient and see how things unfold.

It looks like Google might be taking power away from the big sites and giving it to smaller ones. This is the opposite of what usually happens in updates.

I’ve noticed the same thing.

Two of my big sites in a certain niche got hit, and when I checked the top competitors, they were hit too. But on the other hand, one of my smaller sites in the same niche actually got more traffic and saw some good improvements. So who’s winning if all the big authority sites are getting hit? It looks like Google might be taking power away from the big sites and giving it to smaller ones. This is the opposite of what usually happens in updates.

Another thing I’ve noticed...

The website that is improving in rankings is using strong PBN links.

The other website that’s losing rankings is following "whitehat" methods (like forum links, guest posts, and niche edits). It's not completely whitehat, but it doesn’t use PBN links.
