I have identified two expired domains with names related to my niche and would appreciate some advice on which one to choose.

The first domain has an Ahrefs DR of 1.8, with 43 backlinks (77% do-follow) and 7 referring domains (71% do-follow). While the top backlinks are mostly from unrelated niches, they are not from porn or Asia. However, I have noticed that some of the top pages are associated with ww16.domain.com (emphasis on ww16).

The second domain has an Ahrefs DR of 0, with 152 backlinks (97% do-follow) and 16 referring domains (88% do-follow). Some of the top backlinks are related to my niche.

Based on this information, which domain would be the better choice?

I'm also intrigued by this topic! I share your curiosity about the significance of Domain Rating (DR) compared to Referring Domains (RD) and how they should be assessed in terms of value.

In my perspective, both options appear unfavorable and have the potential to cause more harm than benefit. However, if you still insist on an answer, I would lean towards the second option.

Why do you believe they appear negative? Please provide your reasons.

As for where your focus should lie, what are your specific goals and priorities? It would be helpful to know in order to provide tailored advice.

What factors contribute to their negative qualities? What attributes should I seek in a favorable choice?

In my personal view, I find both options to be unfavorable, and I would not choose either of them. The boost they provide and the quantity of backlinks are insufficient for me to take the risk, unless the domain name strongly aligns with my brand.

Comparatively, the second option appears better as it has backlinks originating from a greater number of domains and a higher number of do-follow links.

Considering only the Ahrefs Domain Rating (DR) of under 25 is not significant enough for me to consider purchasing it, if I solely focus on DR as a metric.

It is impossible to make a definitive judgment without examining the link profile. Metrics alone provide limited information and do not provide a comprehensive understanding of the situation.
