Problems with Etsy..

Around 8 months ago, I established an Etsy shop and managed to make 3-4 sales. However, I encountered an issue due to the fact that my country, which I consider beautiful, is not supported by Etsy Payments. To work around this, I decided to open a bank account in a country where Etsy Payments is available. This allowed me to open a shop and accept payments.

After a few sales, my Etsy shop was unexpectedly placed in vacation mode. In my research, I discovered that I needed to provide Etsy with proof that I am a taxpayer in the country from which I am accepting payments. I submitted my identification documents and other necessary information, but I haven't had any success so far.

I'm seeking any tips or advice that anyone may have to resolve this issue.

Any additional tips on how Payoneer can resolve this issue?

Firstly, Etsy does accept Payoneer, so it’s unlikely they would request any documents specifically related to a Payoneer account beyond your ID, regardless of where you pay your taxes.

Yeah, it's definitely frustrating. I have two Etsy stores with a total of 1,500 sales, and both shops only accept PayPal. I once contacted Etsy support to ask if I could join Etsy Payments by opening a bank account in a country where Etsy Payments is available. Their response was that existing shops can't switch to Etsy Payments, regardless of where you open a bank account.

Here's a potential workaround for you: Etsy support mentioned that if I opened a new shop from a different location with a local bank account, I would need to provide proof of residential address in that country. Then, I could join the Etsy Payments program, if it's available there. However, I'm not interested in starting new shops since I've spent two years building these. I'm just hoping my country will eventually be included in the program.

By the way, do you know why this is the case? On every platform I've signed up for, PayPal is the only available option for my country. Why is that?

You need to provide Etsy with a document proving that you reside in a country where Etsy Payments is available. This document should have been uploaded during the store registration process. If you don't have such a document and instead provide one from a country where Etsy Payments isn't supported, your store will remain suspended. In that situation, you'll need to register a store using details from someone in a country where Etsy Payments is available.
