Instagram New update for Instagram spam filter is being released.

That's not accurate. We automate more than 500 Android devices, and we haven't received any spam flags. Currently, we're even running some accounts with over 1,000 story likes per day, and we haven't encountered any spam issues so far.

You can't keep up. I send out 2,000 likes every day.

Here's a quick update from my side:

Forget about using the API to interact with stories—it’s likely to trigger spam alerts now. Other actions don't seem to cause much trouble.
Following and unfollowing is tricky these days, especially in the last 4 months. If you follow or unfollow more than 30 people a day, you're likely to get blocked, even if you do it manually or through an app. Some accounts with higher trust levels might handle fewer than 20 without issues, but it's risky.
Liking posts seems to be tolerated, possibly because Instagram doesn't want to totally kill engagement on the platform. You can like a lot—up to 400-500—but it's time-consuming, and you might need a dedicated device to manage a couple of accounts. However, liking doesn't seem to bring many new followers. To get good results, your account content and targeting must be perfect; even then, only a few accounts out of ten might grow by a modest 5-12 followers a day.
Viewing and liking stories from a phone or manually-operated accounts might get flagged for spam, especially if your account is new or has fewer than a couple hundred followers. Other accounts with more trust might be safe for now, but it's hard to know how long that will last.

Overall, the days of easy growth on Instagram are definitely gone. The results are smaller and less impressive. It's a lot harder now, and you need a bigger budget depending on your strategy. Random blocks are common, especially with following. In the coming months, maybe Instagram will remove the spam flag issue because even real users are getting flagged. They added a "Mark as Not Spam" option, suggesting they know there are errors. It would be great if they relaxed the follow limits and blocks, but with the 2024 U.S. elections coming up, it's likely to get even tougher to prevent spam and bots.

With over 8 years of experience in this, here's my advice: don't let all the stress make you sick. Work hard while you can, and as long as your customers are happy and you're making money, keep going. But start planning for something more stable, so a sudden change or update doesn't destroy the business you've spent years building.

P.S.: The only thing that still works and delivers surprisingly good results is sending mass direct messages (DMs), but it's costly and not something you can easily do on your own.

Thanks for the helpful information. Unfortunately, I've been flagged as spam for two weeks, and I can't seem to get out of it, even though I'm using the platform like a regular user. And this is my main account with 50,000 followers, but it still got marked as spam.

Try logging out and back into your device; that might fix it, or it might not. The latest update caused a lot of problems.

You'll be starting from scratch, and some people will give up. That means less competition for you.

After not using my account for 28 days, I get a spam warning after making 10 or 11 comments. I'm confused about how long I should wait before I can comment freely. I suspect that all accounts have stricter limits now, but I hope these limits will be relaxed soon.

It should get better soon. This can't continue for the community, so Meta will probably make some changes.

I hope they raise the limits as soon as they can, but in past updates, the limits were lowered and then increased later. I hope that's what happens this time too.

Do you know if there's a way to lower those limits? I want to know if I can follow/unfollow again. Right now, I can only do 10-15 per day before I get blocked. :(

It's been 3 weeks, and my stories are still getting flagged as spam. I really hope they fix this soon.

How can you tell if you've been flagged for spam when liking stories? Did you get blocked when trying to like a story? (Did you get a "Try again later" message?)

From what I recall, since the big update in 2019, the follow limits have never gone up, only down, and it was always permanent. But who knows, maybe they'll change one day.

It's simple: try viewing a story from one of your own accounts, then go to notifications—the user whose story you viewed won't be visible. So there's no point in doing it if no one can see you.

Yeah, that's the right way to do it. I don't know how to fix it, though. I've tried everything I can think of.

My results are improving, but they're still not as good as they used to be.

I'd say everyone sees things their own way. There are many factors to consider, and one platform might not cover them all, but phones are my top choice.

Does anyone know how to fix accounts that keep getting flagged as spam in stories? This spam flag has been there for three weeks and won't go away no matter what I do.
