That was a big issue between him and Twitter. Musk didn’t want to pay the full price if there were a lot of fake accounts (bots) on the platform. It’s not likely that he’ll be able to get rid of all the bots, since they’ll probably always be around in some way. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens next.

A lot of websites will probably start asking for ID verification soon. I've seen some adult websites do it to make sure people aren't too young. You’d think people would want to stay anonymous on a site like that, but surprisingly, most don’t mind sharing their info.

I’ve even seen some websites that host or register domains asking for a government ID to create an account. It seems like the days of being completely anonymous online are coming to an end.

From a hacking point of view, this means we might need to start using deepfakes and AI-generated images as part of our tools.
