Twitter Is there a possibility that Twitter might die out?

When do you anticipate Twitter might cease operations and shut down? Additionally, when do you think it will adopt restrictions similar to Facebook's, where publishing three links instantly leads to a ban? Currently, Twitter tends to impose less severe penalties, often opting for shadowbanning instead of an outright ban for tweeting links.

In the recent months, I believe Twitter has faced its closest brush with decline, likely remaining stable for an extended period. Nevertheless, I anticipate a potential increase in strictness regarding link posting, particularly following their (cancelled) policy of prohibiting outbound links to other social media platforms.

What are you referring to? Which aspect of Twitter are you considering? Twitter is not going to decline anytime soon, my friend. In fact, it's thriving at the moment.

I feel like Facebook and Twitter are already irrelevant. They just don’t seem as appealing as they once were to me.

Facebook has been taken over by older people. About 10 years ago, people between 15 and 30 were using Facebook. Then, one day, older people found it, and suddenly Facebook became a place for them. Now, Facebook is pretty much dead for everything else.

It will only die if Musk shuts it down or if something else becomes more popular that does the same thing. Twitter is different from Facebook or picture/video sites because it's mostly text. Tweets are public, and it lets regular people talk to celebrities, businesses, and experts. Is Mastodon or any other Twitter-like site doing something better to make people switch? The toxicity on Twitter might make some people leave, but it won’t kill it.

Look at MySpace vs. Facebook—Facebook won because of a few reasons. When it started, you needed a college email to join, which kept it for a younger crowd. Facebook was kind of like MySpace (friends, wall), but it felt safer because you couldn’t be anonymous. That’s one big reason why Facebook was seen as more credible than MySpace. What Facebook did better than MySpace or other older platforms was show all your friends’ posts on your wall as one stream of content that you could interact with. Plus, you could engage with other people's content too. Facebook officially beat MySpace when it opened up to everyone.

Compare that to Snapchat, which almost disappeared after Instagram added the story feature to their platform, which had more functions. Most Snapchat users were already on Instagram too. So, new doesn’t always beat old.

Yes, Twitter will eventually die. But you’ll probably be gone before Twitter is.

Elon is using Twitter as part of his big plan for world domination.

He has US government contracts for electric cars, internet, space exploration, satellites, brain tech, and now he controls free speech through Twitter.

Elon has pretty much made himself the king of the world.

And there’s no way Twitter will ever die.

I’m just glad he’s on our side.

I don’t think Twitter will disappear anytime soon. People are happy with the changes Elon made. The platform isn’t perfect yet, but it seems to be getting a good amount of traffic and people like the changes. I’ve been more active on Twitter lately. If Twitter does disappear, it will probably be in the far future, and only if another platform comes along that offers the same or more. Right now, there’s no other platform that can do what Twitter does.

I don't think so; it will probably still be part of the porn category.

I don't think Twitter is going to disappear or shut down anytime soon. Honestly, I don't think it's even worth arguing about.

Well, TikTok is one of the biggest social media platforms, and it's still going strong. Just because your marketing isn't working doesn't mean it's over.

Twitter is still going strong. I've noticed Facebook keeps changing things a lot. They'll add a feature one day and remove it the next.

No, that's not going to happen. Other platforms might shut down someday, but I think Twitter will stick around for a long time.
