Let's discuss how much profit we are generating through Rank and Rent in 2024.

To kick things off, I earned $400 this week! While it may not be a large sum, it does help me take care of my expenses.

My area of focus is tourism.

How do you accomplish it? Do you strategically place keywords on service or accommodation pages?

Certainly! Could you please specify which process you're referring to? Providing a bit more context or specifying the process you're interested in will help me provide you with the relevant details.

Can you share more details about Rank and Rant?

Services!

You can find many options in this forum.

Yes, I've checked out the related threads. If you don’t mind sharing, I have a few questions:

Do you use Google My Business (GMB)?
If so, how do you verify your GMB without using a postcard? I’ve seen services that charge $300 for this, which is a bit out of my budget.
Do your leads come from Google Maps or from SEO?
Do you get paid per lead, or do you receive a fixed amount monthly?
If I were to start this kind of business, what niche would be the easiest to generate initial revenue from (not necessarily the most profitable, but the simplest to start making money, even if it’s just a little)?

I'm not the original poster, but I thought I'd add some insights. I don’t have direct experience with GMB but have spoken with those who do.

While not essential, it can be very helpful. One method that still works is finding people to receive postcard verifications. Classifieds platforms are popular for this, but be cautious with how you phrase your ads.

I’ve heard that a significant portion of leads come from GMB, though this can vary by niche.

You can manage both R&R and direct sales to businesses. R&R might be the easier long-term route if selling directly to businesses.

There are certainly easier niches, but competition often depends on population size. Even challenging niches can be easier to rank in if the population is small (like 1,000). However, I've shifted away from very easy keywords because they often lack profitability. It’s generally better to target slightly larger populations and broader or more popular niches.

Hope this information helps!

That’s a solid start! Do you anticipate growth this month, and if so, what’s driving that expectation?

Real estate is the next niche I'm planning to target—there's a lot of potential there. What about you?

It depends on how much time I can invest. My goal is to reach $3K per month with R&R.

If possible, get a GMB—trust me on this.

Yes, I focus exclusively on home services like plumbing, remodeling, and roofing. I'm also excited about exploring real estate opportunities (e.g., 'sell my home for cash') and custom home builders in the future. Targeting high-income areas could make custom home builders highly profitable. I plan to run some tests in remodeling in affluent areas, even if the population is small.

I was hoping for a more detailed response, but I understand you might not want to give too much away! 😄 I’d like to get a GMB, but spending $300 on something I’m unfamiliar with feels a bit hasty. Since I’ve never done rank & rent or lead gen before, I’m concerned I might not use the GMB effectively.

You can always rank a website or a parasite page to earn enough to cover the cost. If you arrange for someone to receive a postcard for you, you might be able to get a GMB set up for around $30-$100.

Hey! I completely missed your first reply. Thanks so much for your insights. It’s funny—I was actually planning to DM you because I’ve noticed you in every R&R thread, consistently providing valuable advice!

Could you clarify what you mean by this? I’m having trouble understanding.

I’ve heard that a significant portion of leads come from GMB, though this can vary by niche.

For all the city-specific niches I can think of (like dentist in NY, lawyer in NY, plumber in NY), GMB seems like the obvious choice. At the moment, I can't think of any city-related niche that wouldn’t benefit from having a GMB. Am I overlooking something?

This is solid advice for the long term. However, do you think it’s sensible to start with a smaller city to test the method and see if it works? I’m concerned I might struggle initially since I’ve mainly done white hat SEO with minimal backlinks and rely mostly on easy keywords. Additionally, I’m not very skilled at selling, so convincing clients to rent my page could be challenging. Essentially, I’d like to practice with something simpler and less profitable before investing more effort into a more complex but potentially more profitable project.

Hope this information helps!

It was very helpful - thanks again!

Depending on your budget and experience, there’s no harm in creating and testing a few sites to see if you can rank them. This is a great way to learn. However, outsourcing can make the process easier and help you start on the right foot. From my experience, you should launch lead gen sites with at least a few money pages and 5+ blog posts. You can either sell to a network (like affiliate marketing, which handles forms and calls) or find a partner to handle selling the leads directly or renting them out.

Trying to rank in a small city can be a good way to gain experience if you have the budget and time for a test site. Don’t expect huge profits, but targeting a small city with around 5,000 people and a popular service like roofing, handyman, plumbing, or electrical work might yield some returns. For broader or more popular services, a population of at least 25,000 is likely necessary to see significant profits.
