After achieving success in recapping TV show episodes on my monetized channel, I believe it's time to expand into the movie recap niche.
This particular niche offers great potential as all you need to do is provide commentary over 5-8 movie clips and still images. The length of the video doesn't matter; the key is to transform the content with your own commentary.
My focus will be on specific movie scenes, similar to what I've done with TV shows. This approach is easier since I'll be discussing person scenes rather than summarizing the entire movie. I'll choose whichever approach is more convenient for me.
In my successful TV show recaps, I've adopted an opinionated style rather than simply reading out what happened in the episode. I find that this approach humanizes the content and encourages viewers to participate in the comments section, sharing their own opinions.
I have a few movies in mind to start with, but before diving into this new niche, I plan to acquire a second monetized channel.
One aspect I appreciate about this niche is its relative automation compared to trendy TV show recaps. I won't need to post as frequently on this channel since I've noticed that many channels in this genre don't upload content frequently. Instead, videos tend to grow steadily over time. I've even had a movie clip from 2020 accumulate 250,000 views, and if I can implement a safer strategy within YouTube's monetization guidelines, this channel could become highly profitable.
To make my content stand out more in search results, I intend to incorporate a mix of older movie clips, rather than solely focusing on newer releases. This way, my content will have a unique edge. Channels that cover popular topics like Spider-Man or other comic-based movies often face tougher competition.
I'll provide updates on my journey in this new niche as time progresses.
