For the past week, I've observed a rise in organic website traffic originating from Czechia and Seychelles when analyzing my Google Analytics data. Surprisingly, these visits appear as organic traffic.

Has anyone else noticed a similar pattern in their website traffic recently?

Moreover, I suspect that this might be bot traffic. Is there any way to eliminate it from my analytics data? I'm puzzled as to how it slipped through GA's spam filters.
 
Indeed, many people, including myself, have experienced this issue. One potential solution is to apply traffic filtering through Cloudflare.
 
I find it somewhat amusing, considering my personal experience in Seychelles, where the internet infrastructure is known to be quite unreliable. It raises the question of how someone could effectively run spam operations from such a location.

Haha, I’m curious too about who’s behind this and how they’re managing to operate on such a massive scale from those countries.

Pretty sure it’s a MMO member messing with all our sites just for kicks. 😄

There could be some suspicious or unauthorized traffic hitting your site!

Sorry for the late reply! I just added the firewall rules myself.

To do this, go to Cloudflare, then click on your website. After that, go to "Security" and then "WAF" (Web Application Firewall). From there, add the rules for each country.

I'm seeing some weird traffic coming from Czechia and Seychelles. My website has a big database, but what's strange is that the traffic is coming from google.com.

Haha, I was there for a week and checked out a few islands. All I found were coconuts and bananas... but I’d definitely recommend visiting if you get the chance!
 
You can block the bot traffic using Cloudflare.

Just go to Cloudflare, click on "Security," then "WAF," and add a firewall rule.
 
I’ve got the same problem! I noticed a big spike in clicks on GSC and got excited, but then saw comments from others saying they’re dealing with the same thing.

I’m curious what kind of trick they’re using. Maybe some bots went off-track?

Yes, I’ve restricted it, but I'm still getting the same traffic, although it's lower now after applying the Cloudflare filter. I’m still testing it out and will update you soon with more info.
 
I was hoping the MMO community might have some answers here! After digging into Google Analytics, these bots have some pretty strange behaviors. They don’t follow the usual pattern of spiking on a single day like many bots. There’s a mix of devices and browsers—about two-thirds of them are using desktops, which seems a bit high. The pages they land on look random (some even have weird text highlight parameters) and are loaded hundreds of times. Plus, since they’re showing up as coming from Google/organic search, there’s no typical referrer spammy link.

The only common thing is they’re coming from the Seychelles and Czechia, but other than that, there’s not much that stands out.

Here are some theories I have:

They’re real people clicking on search-parameter links, maybe as part of a game or a gig like Mechanical Turk.
Could this be some sort of probe attack? Is every site they target on WordPress?
Maybe it's a search engine testing real-world mobile-friendliness of sites?
Honestly, I’m struggling to figure out what the cash motivation could be behind this.
 
It looks like a massive DDoS attack on thousands of websites, including major search engines. Some people think they're just testing a lot of sites to find the ones with the weakest security. For now, it’s best to block the traffic.

Can you share a source for that? Where did you get this information from?
 
I’ve blocked these countries in Cloudflare, but I’m still getting the traffic. What’s going on?
