Greetings, MMO community!

Around three weeks ago, I created multiple articles with links to my money sites on platforms such as Blogger, Medium, Quora, and Reddit. However, I am unsure whether this effort is worth it in terms of backlinks and site authority, or if it's useless. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to locate them on Google Search Console or SEMrush, and they are not yet indexed in my money site's backlinks profile.

My question is whether it's still worthwhile to use these free platforms to build links, or if I should focus on other methods like guest posts or niche edits to improve my website's SEO. Thank you.

Inclusion of links from platforms like Reddit indicates that conversations surrounding your website are taking place, which is beneficial as it signifies relevance in the eyes of Google. While these links may not have a significant impact on your website's rankings, they contribute to a diverse backlink profile, which is advantageous.

Thanks a lot.

As recommended, these types of links contribute to diversifying your backlink profile and may generate some traffic. However, they do not carry substantial value. It is worth noting that many links created on platforms like Blogger, Medium, and Quora may not be indexed by Google. Instead, it is more beneficial to concentrate on guest posts, niche edits, and relevant Private Blog Network (PBN) links.

When examining the pages, ensure to check for the presence of "noindex" tags or if the content is being delivered through JavaScript. Several of the mentioned websites may present indexing challenges due to these obstacles.

While exploring your competitors' backlinks, focus on identifying similar websites that are successfully indexed. Direct your efforts towards those websites instead of the ones mentioned in your previous post.

Well, a lot of people give different answers. Some say it's worth it for them, some use them just for backlinks, and others think it won't help my website at all.

It depends on what the website owners need.

Well, I'm just trying to find the most effective way to build backlinks while considering the time and money spent.

Should I spend my time building links myself, or pay someone to build backlinks on Quora, Reddit, or Medium? Or should I focus on email outreach instead? Another thing to think about is time and indexing, because everyone wants to rank as quickly as possible.

Yes, they help a bit, but you shouldn't spend all your time on them. Medium won't index your posts if you're new and don't interact with the community.

And yes, these links will appear in GSC if you're doing things correctly.

No, just because a link shows in GSC doesn't mean it's working or giving a big SEO boost.

No-follow links can now count as hits by Google, so if done right, you might get 'hits' from high DA websites.

Medium lets you set a canonical link on posts, so it’s possible to transfer some ranking signals over time.

Even though no-follow links from high DA sites won’t show changes in your domain power in some tools, this doesn’t matter much since Google doesn’t use those third-party tools.

Well, I'm just trying to find the most effective way to build backlinks while considering the time and money spent.

I assume you're not planning to spam your whole website with these links, but just pass the benefits to your best pages. Personally, I think if you're on a budget, it's easier to make them yourself or automate it a little so you can control things like anchor text.

If you're looking for speed, you might as well build a PBN where you have more control, or do outreach. Big sites get crawled often, but it’s not uncommon for a random post without promotion to not get noticed by Google for a while. It's like how I can update a Medium post, and Google still hasn't crawled the new version after two weeks.

Doesn't provide any SEO boost, but it's definitely a clean traffic source.
