Twitter Are Twitter accounts that pay for ads less likely to get banned?

I’m asking because two of my main accounts were banned last night for no clear reason. They were both over 10 years old, had some bot followers, but also many real followers. Has anyone else had accounts banned this week for botting? I use TwitterDub and missed an update 3 days ago, so maybe that caused the ban.

It looks like, ever since Elon exposed Twitter’s "less than 5% bots" claim, they’ve been trying hard to ban as many bot accounts as they can. The Twitter executives own a lot of stock, so if the value drops, they lose a lot of money. This might explain why they’re deleting inactive bot accounts fast.

So my question is: Do you think accounts that buy ads but also have bot followers are safer from bans? Does buying ads help protect against algorithm bans? Let me know what you think!

Any answer to that question that doesn't come directly from one of those board members or a member of management from the crest and safety team at Twitter is just a guess right now.

There’s no way that could have been tested between the time those developments started and now, and no way it would have any real value or meaning to test it.

I've really been noticing this. My daily follower increase has slowed down since about Friday, 14th May.

Yep, for sure. They're going all out trying to shut down as many bot farms as they can. I lost 42k on another account, but it's still active.

I don't think so. Otherwise, everyone would just run ads with a small budget each day and keep violating their rules.

Yep, exactly. It just dropped suddenly one night. I woke up to that, but the account is still okay. However, for some reason, my other two main accounts, which were 11 years old and had a mix of real and bot followers, got banned.

Yeah, I guess that could happen, but it's not like they’re very good at managing things over at Twitter. I could see them setting up the algorithm to check if an account is buying ads before banning it.

Why would they want to ban their main source of income, even if the account has bot followers?
