Pinterest How to get around Pinterest limits? (What are they using?)

Hey everyone! 😊

I’m curious about how Pinterest tracks the follow rate per hour. I can follow around 300 people per hour, but that’s just not enough for me . I want to do more. Are they using things like IP addresses to track it? (So if I change my IP, could I follow more?) Or do they track through cookies or access tokens (and if so, how would I get those)?

Here’s the issue: I have 5 accounts, and after following 300 on the first account, I can’t follow more with the others!

You can't skip the follow limit, wow... What were you thinking when you made this thread?

They're likely using IP detection. So, if you follow too many people from the same IP (no matter the account), you'll hit a limit on all accounts. It's best to use private proxies and a clean browser for each proxy. This means you should clear your cookies and history before logging in with a different account and proxy. I think Chrome has an option to create a fresh browser every time you restart it.

It doesn't matter if you switch your IP or use a proxy, you’ll still be limited, rookie! Where do you guys even come from?

Chill out. Yeah, you'll definitely get limited. What I'm saying is maybe they have a worldwide limit for an IP, so if you go over it, you can't post from any account using that IP. That's probably what the OP is running into. But I'm just speculating here.

Once you hit the account limit, just switch accounts and proxies, that usually works for me. Another thing you can try is switching tasks. You can follow 280, then move on to re-pins, comments, or even follow just boards. Switch accounts and start over! :D

You could give these a shot, but in the end, you'll still be limited. There's not much you can do to get around it.

It's impossible to get around Pinterest's limit. You just have to stay within the restrictions.

Just do 160 per hour, I do it this way and in around 13 hours, I've followed over 1900 without hitting limits, using a bot of course.

Pretty much.

I think they limit based on your account, meaning there's a unique ID tied to your account when you log in to Pinterest. Once you hit your engagement limits, you're done.

As for IP detection, with so many open Wi-Fi spots, free Wi-Fi in coffee shops, and shared internet in apartment buildings, Pinterest probably doesn’t use this method. They know some users might get limited unfairly because of real traffic.

What's the point of following 1900+ people in 13 hours? Can you explain it to me?
EDIT: If that's 1900+ for one account, then I get it.

I’m surprised you’re still going at 300 per day. They might let that slide at first, depending on your region or account (I had an account on a Texas-based VPN that could follow 1,000 per day for 3 months, but then they slowed me down). You should be careful, though. There’s a lot of banning happening on Pinterest right now, and their mods are usually pretty tough.

Here’s my advice in 3 steps:

1 - Use multiple accounts. 2 - Verify websites to make them look very real. 3 - Post using the Pinterest API or a custom program, not with a bot or browser bot (or any bot pretending to be a browser).

If you use a bot, try PinBlaster PRO by Vlad. It’s the only one I’ve found that works well with all the big proxy providers (at least the ones I’ve tried) and most major VPNs.

I personally have 2 PinBlaster PRO licenses, and I use both on VmWare virtual machines running on my Win7 Pro x64 system, 24/7. I also use Private Internet Access VPN from each Vmware instance, and I’ve never had a problem. Pinterest has definitely slowed me down a lot, and sometimes I can only post about 30 pins per day, but I haven’t been banned yet.

For those still in the Pinterest game, stay low-key and pin occasionally from your phone if you can. It seems to keep the algorithm guessing—just a guess on my part, but I’ve noticed my pinning limit raised a few times after using the iPhone app.

Cheers!

No, I split that 1,900 across my 209,600 accounts.
Now, I’m pushing it a bit by following 310 per hour instead of 150... Still haven’t been blocked.

Use a proxy if you don’t want to get banned. They’re all keeping an eye on you! 😎

Most of the stuff that gets posted will probably be ignored anyway.

There’s just too much trouble for small results. At least, that’s how it is for me...

The smartest way to do well with social media is to stick to the rules. Trying to sneak around them usually doesn’t work and can even make things harder.

It’s really important to always use a proxy when you're on platforms like Pinterest. I tried doing things without it before, and lots of my pages ended up getting blocked. Now I built my own tools, and everything is working just right!

I’ve got 5 pages now, and each one has around 2,800 fans—so that’s more than 14,000 fans altogether! When my main page shares something, the other 4 pages share it too, so it gets 4 extra shares super fast. I also follow about 620 people using all 5 pages, which means I’m following a little over 3,000 folks in total.

My goal is to grow each of my pages to 10,000 fans someday!

So, about how many new fans does each page get every day?
