I was interested in purchasing some press releases on this forum, but I ended up buying from a platform I found on Google. However, it turned out to be a complete scam since only three out of at least 400 articles were indexed within a month. Upon closer inspection, I discovered that most of the articles were missing categories, and the sitemap was also absent.

This led me to believe that it was just another business attempting to make money. What is your opinion on this matter?

Exactly the same. But it’s never been like this. I remember around 8-9 years ago, PRs were really good for both links and traffic, even the cheaper ones.

But I’m not sure what changed, because now Google even sees these links as spam.

The press release used to be an effective SEO method in the past, but it no longer produces the same results.

Junk. Google doesn't pay attention to it.

Old school methods are way past their prime.

Sounds iffy, better stick to trustworthy PR platforms or reach out to real media outlets for better results. Trust your instincts, man.

We just began using ABnewswire. For $101, we get around 7 press releases listed on top sites. A few of them show up on the first page when you search for the business or a specific keyword. Not sure if it really boosts the rankings, but it might help with company branding and getting the name out. For now, we’ll keep using this service when bringing on new clients.
