I’m trying to figure out how to grow my Twitter followers naturally.
I’ve spent the last few days looking on YouTube for a good tutorial, but I haven’t found anything useful.
Any advice is welcome!

Building a following takes time, effort, and depends on your niche. For me, I only have 11 followers after three days, and my niche is adult content, which may or may not make it easier.

Some people follow others just to get a follow back, and while that strategy works, I don’t use it because I’m not a fan. You can also interact with others by replying to their posts and using the right hashtags, especially trending ones, which helps your posts get seen more. Keeping track of hashtags that work well for you is helpful so you don’t forget them.

Another option is paid promotion, which you can do through Twitter, but be careful because some accounts are full of bots and don’t help you grow organically.

You probably already know most of this, but the key is staying consistent and being patient. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice! I hope you gain more followers for your account as well.

I'd suggest managing your main account manually—focus on using good hashtags, posting quality content, and following back your followers.

When people leave comments, reply to them and like the positive ones. Most Twitter users don't post much, and they appreciate getting likes or comments from accounts they follow. It helps them feel noticed.

Avoid getting into arguments with other accounts—it's not worth it. Just mute or block them and move on.

After about a month, consider creating other accounts to retweet your main account’s tweets, but do it smartly. If your niche is lawnmowers, for example, retweet posts from other big lawnmower accounts too, so it doesn’t look like you're just spamming your own tweets.

And no, my niche isn’t lawnmowers, and I’m not sharing what it is! :)

Here are some simple ways to grow your Twitter followers:

Share helpful and interesting content.
Post pictures or videos.
Tweet regularly.
Engage with other people’s posts.
Share your Twitter handle everywhere you can.
Get your current followers to spread the word.
Run a campaign to gain more followers.

Create helpful, funny, or interesting posts. Share and promote your account on social media. Keep up with trends (this is super important since people following trends often see similar accounts on their feed). Finally, look at trending tweets and add your own twist to join in!

Thanks a lot for the info! Could you explain more about what it means to "follow trends" on Twitter?

From what I've seen:

Share good content
Chat and connect with your followers
Use hashtags
Join Twitter Spaces to share what you know
Do these, and you'll start getting more followers naturally!

Here’s my top tip: pin your best post so it’s easy to find, and turn on notifications for popular accounts in your field. When they tweet, jump in and reply!

I had no idea about Twitter Spaces—thanks so much for telling me!

From what I understand, Twitter's algorithm seems to like consistency (like posting daily at the same time). This next tip isn’t really proven, but from what I’ve seen, using emojis in moderation can help your post do better.

Also, adding images and replying to threads are great ways to boost engagement.

The best way to get noticed is actually through any interactions your tweets get. So, try joining conversations on topics related to your niche, even if your input feels basic—it's a good way to start getting involved.

A good profile starts with a profile picture, bio, and banner that are all set up to attract people in your niche and give them an idea of what your account is about. Your pinned tweet should also have useful info or at least help viewers understand your account better.
At the beginning, you probably won’t get many followers, so just tweeting isn’t going to help much. Instead, focus on finding bigger accounts in your niche and reply to their tweets. A great way to do this is by adding something extra to what they’re saying. If you’re consistent and get in early, you’ll slowly start gaining followers over time.
Next, find accounts that are about the same size as yours and do similar things, and offer to help each other out by liking, replying, and retweeting each other’s posts. Do this with at least 30-50 accounts, and you’ll reach a much bigger audience.

You can get everyone in your group to join a chat where everyone retweets, likes, and replies to each other’s tweets. This is how some of the biggest accounts grow, I was in a group like this with accounts that had 100k-200k followers.
By this point, you should also try to get bigger accounts in your niche to join the group, because the more people you have, the bigger your audience will be, leading to steady growth and higher numbers soon.
When you tweet, avoid including links or @mentions, because that can limit how many people see it. If possible, try to include a trending topic in your tweet, and using media (like images or videos) can help even more.
You could also try getting into arguments for engagement, but that’s not great for long-term growth and probably isn’t the best idea even for short-term gains.

I’m not on Twitter much, but I send traffic from my TikTok to my Twitter, and it’s working pretty well.

You're amazing, Rakzs! This is really going to help a lot.

Whether it's on Twitter, YouTube, Reddit, or any other platform, stick to a niche and post regularly. Interact with your audience consistently. Instead of posting random, anonymous content, create threads that engage your followers. Share helpful tips and proof to build trust and show real value.
