I have been working on improving the ranking of a dentist website and have managed to acquire 15 high authority backlinks for it. Although these links have been indexed by Google, the website's ranking has not improved in the past two weeks.

I am now considering whether I need to acquire a large number of low-quality links, also known as "pillow links," to reach a certain threshold and improve its ranking. Additionally, I am unsure whether I should diversify the backlinks by obtaining medium-quality links, web 2.0s, and directory listings.

I have never understood the significance of diversifying the backlinks apart from the threshold argument mentioned earlier. Could you please suggest what I should do to improve the website's ranking?

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any further questions.

Just to clarify, all the high authority links that I built for the website have a minimum authority score of 50 or more.

Expecting progress within a span of two weeks in a highly competitive field might be overly ambitious.

Have you implemented on-page SEO techniques?

I sure did.

I have limited time remaining to avoid failure, and I am curious if solely incorporating high authority backlinks will be sufficient for achieving success. Should I also consider directory listings, web 2.0's, and diverse links? If so, what is the reasoning behind their necessity (including the threshold I mentioned)? My target audience consists of dental patients visiting Greece, and the competitiveness of English queries is relatively low. Given my previous unsuccessful SEO campaigns, I am eager to determine if these strategies alone will result in improved rankings.

I understand that SEO outcomes are not guaranteed, but I would appreciate some approximate guidance on what actions I should take, what they entail, and what outcomes I can anticipate.

It is highly recommended to develop a comprehensive and diverse backlink portfolio for your SEO efforts.

You're trying to hurry something that needs time. No one can give you a perfect trick to make it faster. Just keep doing good work, and it will pay off in the end.

Some things might work better than others, but you still need a mix of different things, like backlinks and social media mentions.

One of the most important things you'll learn about SEO is that no one knows everything. The key to success is working consistently and doing it well. Creating good, high-quality content and mixing things up is the best way to get higher rankings.

Do you have a list of directory sites and common types of links I can use so I can get started? I don't have time for Web 2.0 or own tools like GSA, so I'll skip those.

Do you think these things are enough? Will high authority domain backlinks, directory listings, and business directories be enough, or should I also focus on social media and other stuff?

THIS IS IMPORTANT
I know all of these things are helpful, but I'm working two jobs right now, so I need to know what’s most important. I’ve heard that social signals can help rankings a little, but what’s the absolute minimum I need to get started?

Like, will my PBNs (Private Blog Networks) not even work if I don’t have directory listings? Will they be useless without certain things? No one I know will say you can't succeed without social media or blog comments, and that's exactly the kind of answer I need right now. Are PBNs and business directories enough, or does Google need more?

From what I understand, Google just wants to see that you're doing things the natural way. The more I do this, the better my PBNs will work because Google will start paying attention to my site. Do you think business directories and web directory listings are usually enough on their own for this purpose?

What do you think?

I'm planning to stick with web directories, business directories, and some different types of links.

SEO might not be the right choice for you then. You should try something else. It takes time to see good results (usually about 6 months), and even then, the easier keywords will rank first, not your big ones. You need to gather data, create more content, and link everything together. It's a slow process—two weeks is nothing.

Most of it (about 90%) is about making sure your website is set up the right way.
