Youtube YouTube is less likely to remove bot views from outside sources, but it doesn’t help your video rank better.

I just want to share something:

YouTube handles bot views differently depending on where they come from:

Bot views from outside sources are harder for YouTube to spot and remove for a few reasons:

  • They often come from many different IP addresses, which makes them look like real views.
  • External traffic can include real visitors from search engines, social media, or embedded videos, so YouTube is careful about removing them.
  • YouTube looks at where the traffic comes from separately, so these views don’t affect how the video ranks internally.
Bot views that come directly from YouTube are easier to catch and remove because:

  • YouTube has more information about how users act on its site, making it easier to spot anything unusual.
  • Traffic from places like search results or recommended videos is more important for YouTube's system, so it’s watched more closely.
  • Bot views on YouTube usually have signs like really high click rates or very short watch times.
Although YouTube doesn’t like bot views from outside sources, they usually don’t take action unless they see someone trying to trick the system.
