I recently made an NSFW Twitter account in a specific niche and have been posting a lot (not retweeting) every day. I also go into other accounts and follow a lot of their followers. Sometimes, I comment on other NSFW posts. So far, I’ve gained about 32 followers and received hundreds of engagements in just a few days. I’ve been happy with the progress until today, when I logged in and saw that my account was locked right after I tried liking a comment. I completed the email verification, and now my account has a temporary label, plus my follower count dropped to zero. I logged out of all my accounts, and when I logged back in, my follower count was back to normal, but the temporary label is still there. I checked my account here: https://shadowban.yuzurisa.com, and here’s what I got:

I just checked the status of other large NSFW accounts with about 19k and 82k followers that post similar content to mine, and I see:

And here’s what I found:

So how are these accounts doing it? Or are they also shadowbanned like me (I don’t see the “Ghost Ban” on them)? I know my activity over the past few days might look spammy because I followed a lot of people, sometimes getting that “you can’t follow more” message, but I’d keep following once that message went away (I did this because Twitter lets you follow 400 people per day, so I didn’t really understand the warning). But how can I grow this account if I can’t do that? It feels like I’m starting from scratch, and this was the strategy everyone talked about—plus engaging in comments—but that’s all I’ve been doing. So is it no longer possible to grow an NSFW account from the ground up, or am I missing something?
