Who else feels the same way? I made my first real money with PHP, and honestly, WordPress has helped pay the bills more than anything else over the years!

1996: PHP is outdated, try ColdFusion
2004: PHP is outdated, try Django
2005: PHP is outdated, try Ruby on Rails
2011: PHP is outdated, try Flask
2012: PHP is outdated, try AngularJS
2017: PHP is outdated, try Next.js
2023: PHP is outdated, try Go
2026: Okay, this is getting strange...

PHP is a great language. Even though I stopped using it over six years ago, I still believe it’s a solid choice for web development because it's easy to get into.

Personally, I prefer using Python (with Django or FastAPI) for the backend, and ReactJS or Vue for the frontend.

Lately I’ve been working with React, Angular, and Vue too. I’m not really sure how good they are at helping websites show up in search results. Have you ever tried making these newer JavaScript websites easier for search engines to find?

I’m trying this out right now with a brand-new website. I haven’t only used JavaScript before, so I’m still learning how it goes, but it seems like it should be okay. A lot of websites already use tools like Next.js or Nuxt, so it’s probably safe. You can also pre-build pages ahead of time, but then you lose some interactive features.

I’ve worked with React for about 6 years, but little by little I’m moving over to Vue because I like how neat and simple the code feels.
