I am working on a local rank and rent project that covers a large local area, and I plan to use multiple GMB listings.

I am wondering if it's better to rank each GMB with a unique website or to rank each GMB using a page from a single website.

Should I create one website with multiple location pages, each with its own GMB listing, or should I create multiple websites, each with its own GMB listing? From an SEO perspective, which approach is better?

It is more effective to create a single Google Business Profile (GBP) and direct each GBP to its own distinct inner page on your website. Instead of creating multiple GBPs and attempting to optimize each one personly, consolidating your efforts into a single GBP allows for better focus and efficiency.

However, what about citations for the person Google My Business (GMB) listings? Would it be possible to use citations for only one location?

Citations are often given more importance than they deserve. However, when you have multiple Google My Business (GMB) listings, each representing a distinct location, the address, phone number, and website will naturally vary. Nevertheless, each GMB listing will have its own verification process to ensure the accuracy of the provided information.
