I have recollections of using Matthew Woodward's tiered link building guide during the years 2013, 2014, and 2015 with great success. The approach entailed initiating with a blend of 2.0's and super 2.0's, followed by GSA to construct tiered links aimed at them, and subsequently adding manual link building.

Given the circumstances of 2023, is it still possible to execute this strategy and use GSA effectively?

Indeed, tiered linking has proven to be effective. It is crucial to prioritize the quality of tier 1 (T1) links when implementing this strategy.

Tiered link building remains a viable approach as long as it is executed with careful planning. It is important to ensure that both tier 1 (T1) and tier 2 (T2) links are of high quality to achieve optimal results.

Utilizing super web 2.0's for tier 1 is a popular choice as they tend to provide strong contextual backlinks. For tier 2, it is advisable to incorporate a mix of super web 2.0's and manual web 2.0's to maintain diversity and ensure quality. As for tier 3 and beyond, using tools like GSA (Google Search Appliance) for link building can be considered, but it's important to exercise caution and employ proper strategies to avoid potential risks associated with automated link building.
