MMO A&P How to Make Money from an App

Hi! I made a tiny phone app that helps with one small thing every day. It works quietly in the background. People usually open it just one time to set it up, then close it. After that, they only open it again when they get a reminder — which usually happens once, when they first set it. Because of this, putting ads in the app won’t make much money since users don’t open it often.

I can’t think of extra features to add because the app only solves one little problem, and once that’s done, there’s nothing else to offer. So, I don’t think I can create a premium version with extra stuff.

Maybe I could limit how many times someone can use the app each week or day, which might make some people pay a small one-time fee, but I’m not sure.

I’m also careful not to share exactly what the app does because I don’t want to create competition for myself — sorry about that! But my question is: How can I make money from a free app without using ads (or with ads that won’t bring much money) and without having extra features to sell in premium versions?

I’m not sure what your app is all about, but the best idea is to add more special features like you mentioned. You can make different plans, like weekly, monthly, and yearly, so users get more stuff and don’t see ads.
