Hi everyone,

I just made a new TikTok account, but my first video still has 0 views after about 13 hours. This is actually my fourth try after resetting things. My very first account did okay, but the reach was pretty low.

Here’s what I did to set it up:

iPhone 8, fully factory reset before I started.

A new Apple ID with a US address and a Gmail account.

Downloaded TikTok from the US App Store, and I set everything to English.

I put in a US SIM card (Verizon, not activated yet).
The phone region, keyboard, language, and time zone were all changed to the United States.

I used my home Wi-Fi with a French residential IP the whole time.
I also turned off location and tracking, so the app can’t use GPS.

I didn’t use any VPN or proxy.

For warming up the account, I did some simple activity:

Scrolled for about 25–35 minutes a day

Liked around 12 to 22 AI videos from the search page

Followed 2–3 accounts

Didn’t post anything during the first 4 days

There are no other TikTok accounts on this phone.

Result:
My first video got 0 views, and it feels like the account might be shadowbanned. I’m also seeing the follower count bug.

My question:

What might be wrong with the way I did this? What steps do you usually follow?

Should I use a US mobile proxy (like 4G) or maybe a residential proxy when warming up the account and posting videos?

How are people handling TikTok account warm-ups in 2026 when using fresh devices and US setups?

Do I need to stay away from home Wi-Fi from my own country, or could the problem be the phone or SIM card instead?

Any tips from people who have successfully built and grown TikTok accounts would really help. I can also share some help with AI video ideas in return.

Your problem may be happening because you used home Wi-Fi from another country while your phone, SIM, and app were all set up to look like they are in the United States. In 2026, TikTok seems to check very carefully if the location, IP address, and device details all match.

Many people say using a US mobile proxy with a real 4G/LTE connection works better for warming up an account and posting videos. The IP address looks like it truly comes from the US, and the network activity appears more natural.

It’s also a good idea to not use residential Wi-Fi from a different country during the early steps of setting up and warming up the account. This stage is when TikTok is most likely checking if everything looks normal.

Thanks, I’ll try using a mobile proxy just for this.

Your setup is mostly fine, but the French WiFi doesn’t match and that’s a big issue. TikTok now checks things like SIM, device region, and IP location much more closely, especially in the first 40–50 hours. Even if your SIM is from the US and your device is clean, the wrong IP can break trust.

A few extra tips:

Make sure your app store region and payments (if you use them) match the US too.
Stay active: follow about 4–9 related accounts, leave a comment each day, and don’t log out during the first 6–8 days.
For warming up, a real mobile IP (like a private 4G connection) works much better than other types of IPs.

Right now, TikTok is strict about even small mismatches in the early stage. You’re not shadowbanned—you’re just in a low-trust phase.
