Does it make a difference if Fiverr/Upwork account is US or any country?

Hey everyone,

I wanted to discuss the topic mentioned in the title. Have any of you tried opening and working with Fiverr or Upwork accounts from a different country compared to your original one?

Speaking from my own experience, I'm unsure if the change I've observed is due to this account migration or simply because I haven't been dedicating as much time to Fiverr/Upwork as I used to. I've noticed that Fiverr changed my account's country from the US to my actual country, and since then, I haven't been receiving as many opportunities as before. Do you think this change in country association is affecting my account's performance, or could it be primarily attributed to the reduced time I've spent working on the platforms?

I'd appreciate hearing your thoughts and insights on this matter.

The country associated with your account is determined automatically based on the locations from which you access Fiverr/Upwork while browsing.

The presence of Geo location will not have any effect. Your sales may be insufficient due to Fiverr becoming more competitive than it was before.

Yes, that's what I observed. Previously, it was different as I had initially set it up using a US VPS, and it remained that way for quite some time until the last couple of months. However, now when I browse, it has switched to showing my current country.

Perhaps, yes. I'll attempt to revise the description and observe the outcome :D

Fiverr closely monitors new accounts, particularly those originating from first-world countries. So, even if you use a VPN to create the account and later log in with your actual IP address, they will eventually update the account's location. To resolve this, the solution is to use a residential IP address when creating the account and continue using the same IP. Monthly services are available that offer residential IP addresses for this purpose.
